What are the near-term prospects for business, employment and the availability of skilled labour in Southwest Finland? What does the latest foresight information tell us about the situation, changes and competence needs in different sectors?

At the Southwest Finland Foresight Academy workshop, we will examine the latest regional and labour market foresight information to be published in November. At the beginning of the event, we will hear the key findings from the Autumn 2026 Regional Development Prospects review, together with relevant highlights related to the day’s theme from the latest Labour Force Barometer and the latest foresight data from the Finnish National Agency for Education.

The Regional Development Prospects report brings together information on the state of the economy and business activity, developments in unemployment and the availability of skilled labour. The review is based on the assessments of regional development experts and professionals working with businesses, supplemented by statistics, surveys and barometers.

The event is intended for the Skills and Education Network as well as representatives of companies, education providers, employment services, development organisations and other actors in the region that make use of foresight information.
